Pursell scholarships are awarded each July during the annual WNAC Convention. Named in memory of longtime WNAC leader, Cleo Pursell, these provide help for international students preparing for ministry within their own region or country. Individual selection is based on recommendations from Free Will Baptist mission leaders (Home Missions and International Missions). Scholarship amounts vary as funding comes solely from designated gifts received throughout the year.
On the WNAC Calendar, February has long been known as Cleo Pursell Foreign Student Scholarship Month. Several recipients of these scholarships are now Free Will Baptist leaders in their homelands, while others serve Christ throughout the world.
