The WNAC Executive Committee announces Danita High as its nominee for WNAC Executive Secretary-Treasurer. Delegates will vote on this recommendation during the Tuesday morning business session of the WNAC Convention, July 21-22, in Charleston, WV. Each local Woman Active for Christ group is encouraged to send a delegate to participate in this monumental decision. (Download delegate card.)

Danita says:

I have been Free Will Baptist all my life. It is all I know, and I believe in our denomination. I am a fourth generation Free Will Baptist, beginning with my great grandfather who was a pastor and started a Free Will Baptist church in Bentonville, AR. My great-grandmother is still living, and even to this day, I find myself going to her for wisdom and prayer in my Christian life.

My husband, John, and I are both Arkansas natives. We are both blessed to have families with a rich heritage in the Arkansas Free Will Baptist work. John is an ordained Free Will Baptist minister, and he is my support and my best friend. We have pastored in the states of Arkansas and Texas.

I grew up attending what was then known as “Women’s Auxiliary” meetings with my mother. I absolutely loved going, and I always felt so grown up in the midst of all the women. I remember attending the Arkansas State WAC retreats as a very young girl. It has just always been a part of my life, and I have fond memories of special women who devoted their lives to the cause of WNAC.

I am the mother of two gifted children. Trice is 10 years old and Lillian is 5 years old. They are my delight.

As a pastor’s wife, I have promoted WNAC through our ministry in the church.

I have held various offices on both the local and district levels. I currently serve as the Polk Boyou District WAC President, and I serve on our state nominating committee.

I have visited churches throughout our district, which do not have active WAC groups, in an effort to enlist new membership.

I have a sincere passion for the ministry of WNAC and the future of our organization. I have made it my life ambition to encourage women of all ages and backgrounds to go above and beyond the “norm” in their walk with God. To serve God with their whole being, wherever they are, and to be women of His beauty. We have so many opportunities to serve in our homes, churches, communities, and around the world. The fields are white and ready to harvest. We must not miss one beat. There is much work to do.

I enjoy singing, playing the piano, and speaking at various women’s events, when opportunities arise.

I love to read and journal, and I especially enjoy my early morning “quiet times” spent with my Heavenly Father. It is my time to fuel up, so to speak, for the challenges of the day.

I currently serve as Assistant Vice President and department head for both the Customer Service/New Accounts areas in a local bank. I have been in the banking industry since 1999. I have attended several banking / Investment classes, and I am a graduate of Arkansas State Trust School. I have also served as a trust officer and IRA administrator.

I serve on our bank’s marketing team. I am responsible for all bank advertising, marketing, and coordinating the bank’s involvement in special community events. I also serve on the budget planning committee that is responsible for preparing the annual marketing/advertising budget.

I come before our women with a servant’s heart. I love our women. I respect and admire those that have served ahead of me in this position. I have not taken this nomination lightly. I have prayed and toiled over the responsibility at hand. I am willing to follow God on whatever path He has for my family and me. I am both humbled and challenged. However, my family and I are willing to commit our lives to the cause.

Come meet Danita at the WNAC Convention, July 21-22 in Charleston, West Virginia.

Make a difference in the lives of children in Central Asia.
Share the Joy of Christmas

Give. Preparations are already underway for Central Asia's Joy of Christmas outreach. For only $15, you can give a child a Christmas gift package and an opportunity to hear the Gospel—most likely for the very first time. Encourage your church or women's group to be a part in this worthwhile ministry to handicapped and orphaned children in Central Asia. Donate online

Pray. A team of Women Active for Christ will travel to Central Asia in January 2009 and participate in the actual distribution of these gifts. Pray that God will provide funds for travel expenses, prepare each heart for the harvest, and partner many in this effort..

As mentioned at the
National Convention in Little Rock...
