Prayer Update

WNAC Vice president and South Carolina WAC President was admitted to Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg last week due to a stroke. Test results showed Pam has a narrowing in the arteries in the back of her neck. She went home from the hospital yesterday and is to go through outpatient therapy as she is having difficulty walking. Please remember both Pam and her husband Tim (pastor of Fairview FWB Church, Spartanburg), in prayer during this time. WNAC requests prayer for vice president Pam Hackett, who suffered two strokes last week. She is currently hospitalized in the Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg, SC. Pam is recovering but is still experiencing problems with equilibrium, vision and headaches. Doctors have prescribed medications and physical therapy to try to correct these issues. Pray for God’s healing touch and restoration for Pam, and His peace and strength for her family as they assist her during this time.

Group of the Week: Leadington Free Will Baptist Church WAC, Missouri

Women Active for Christ at Leadington Free Will Baptist Church, Missouri, recently hosted a benefit for triplets (grandchildren of a couple in the congregation) whose mother has been missing since June 1. What began as a yard sale snowballed into a community-wide event extravaganza that netted over $9,000 for the children’s care and education. Read the whole story and view pictures of the event.

“Staying in Love” Marriage Conferences Planned for 2012

Master’s Men and WNAC invite couples to a weekend of retreat and renewal. Husbands and wives can enjoy time together and time away while they gain biblical principles and practical advice for “Staying in Love.” Two dates in two different locations offer flexibility.

Identical conferences February 17-19 at the Doubletree Hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and March 23-25 at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Branson, Missouri will feature Brother Joe Grizzle as speaker. Brother Grizzle and his wife Billie not only enjoy a lasting marriage, but have also guided and encouraged countless couples throughout their years of ministry at CrossPointe Free Will Baptist Church of Norman, Oklahoma.

The weekend conferences run Friday evening through Sunday noon and include scheduled sessions, pocketed times for interaction and fellowship, a free afternoon for rest and/or exploring the area, a Saturday night banquet and Sunday morning worship.

Group of the Week: First FWB WAC, Decatur, Alabama

Many WAC groups gather school supplies for children in their churches or even their communities, but Women Active for Christ at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Decatur, Alabama, chose to extend their generosity a bit farther. They recently collected over $300 worth of school supplies/books for the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home in Eldridge, Alabama, and the Free Will Baptist School in St. Croix, Virgin Islands.

Jean McCraney, who spearheaded the project within this WAC group of nine, enlisted help from other women in the church and helped deliver the gifts to the Alabama home. Sister Inez Jones serves as coordinator of the group.
