WNAC designates each May as Emphasis Month—a time when Women Active for Christ are encouraged to share the ministry of WNAC with their congregations and others. Emphasis Month is also a time to sheer up support for the WNAC office. Without the national office, much of WNAC’s current ministries would not be possible. The Provision Closet, Treasure study guide, and the many free online resources available at wnac.org could not happen without generous gifts and donations from people like you.

This May, think about how you will share the ministry of WNAC with others, and share in its ministry with your financial support. Even a little can become Mighty in His Hand.

This year’s March 25-29 PreEaster Week of Prayer gave women a jumpstart into this annual focus. Thank you to all who participated. Throughout the month of April, consider how God would have you participate in global evangelism.

Will you daily pray for the needs of missionaries and Kingdom workers? It’s not too late to join FWBIM’s call to Prayer and Fasting. This 40-day initiative provides information and a daily prayer focus on specific areas of FWBIM ministry and culminates on April 28 with the annual World Missions Offering.

Plan now to participate in the WMO and pray about how much God would have you give. Is He calling you to give up a luxury (beauty treatment, cosmetic, soft drink, coffee, or other amenity)? Is He urging you to give sacrificially, trusting God to supply above and beyond what you deem doable?

And throughout this month, as you place these prayer and financial needs forefront, ask God to search your heart as well. Is God calling you to go
…on a mission trip or a short-term assignment to share a skill or utilize a spiritual gift?
…as a volunteer with The Hanna Project?
…on an international family vacation to broaden your vision or encourage a missionary?
…as a teacher of English or a small business entrepreneur, using these as a platform for living and sharing your faith?
…as a participant in an international church planting effort?
…as a career missionary?

Women Nationally Active for Christ seeks to provide opportunities for each woman to fulfill the Great Commission through her God-designed roles in the home, church, community and world. What do those roles look like in your life? How will you use these for His glory within this special month?

A NEW YEAR’S PRAYER

Dear Lord as I humbly come unto you
And the passing year I sit and review,
I want to thank you and give you glory and praise
For giving me grace and strength for all those days.

I have faced times when I wanted to give up,
But how could I do that when blessings overflowed my cup?
I read my notations on every month of this past year,
In spite of any difficulties, You gave me memories dear.

I enjoyed being part of a church with friends so fine,
It’s wonderful to have a church family that I call mine.
I thank you, Lord, for accomplishments and goals met,
I find comfort and hope You’re not done with me yet.

So as a new year begins with challenges to face,
Lord I’m going to need some more strength and grace.
Help me to be the best that I can be,
Guide me lest I walk ahead of Thee.

Help me lift my feeble hands in prayer, dear Lord,
Help my eyes spend more time in your Word
Help me take time to listen as I read,
Nurture me as on your Word I feed.

Touch my stammering lips so I will speak
Words of hope for the struggling and weak.
Lord, take and use me, each and every part.
Help others see I have You living in my heart.

—Sue Winchester

His eyes were on a young virgin thrashing in the throes of pain and birthing, in a stable, in the straw, on the earth, in Bethlehem. He had sent His Son to her womb, knowing full well the reception and rejection His beloved would face.

God closed His eyes to the betrayal, the blood, the torture, the thorny crown, the three nails and a cross awaiting His Son on a rocky hill, and lifted one foot toward the precipice as He reached His hand toward the descending rail.

He halted, knowing full well that for the sake of His creation, the work of His own hands, He must. They, now fallen, held captive, enslaved in their sins and sentenced to eternal damnation, were awaiting the redeeming, bloodletting ransom.

He could not thwart nor negate the sacrificing of His Son. For the sake of the sinful, He could not. Love would not let Him.

Slowly He turned, lifting His hand from the rail, and, with back toward His Son, He walked away. Faint cries of a newborn baby echoed softly from star to star to star.

At their annual fall retreat in September, West Virginia Women Active for Christ brought offerings to provide camp scholarships for children in a restricted access country. These offerings totaled just over $1,400. Thrilled with this response, state WAC president Jody Sullivan challenged women to dig a bit deeper and round up the amount (making the amount exactly enough to send 42 kids). That appeal netted a bit more—just over the goal. But two checks mailed after the weekend event brought the total to $1,750—enough to send 50 children to camp this coming summer. Jody says, “The women in West Virginia never cease to amaze me. It’s not us though—it’s Him in us that allows us to do these things.”
