WNAC Vice president and South Carolina WAC President was admitted to Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg last week due to a stroke. Test results showed Pam has a narrowing in the arteries in the back of her neck. She went home from the hospital yesterday and is to go through outpatient therapy as she is having difficulty walking. Please remember both Pam and her husband Tim (pastor of Fairview FWB Church, Spartanburg), in prayer during this time. Prepare your heart for the Easter season by praying for the world. During the week of April 18-22, Women Active for Christ across the nations will join together in corporate prayer for God’s work among the nations and its peoples. This year’s emphasis is two fold: praying for the work in the hard places and praying for the work in the harvest places. A downloadable prayer guide offers women daily options for intercession. Honor Home Missionary Wives through Prayer

Join WNAC, November 15-19, in honoring the ”Jewel Qualities” of home missionary wives during the annual PreThanksgiving Week of Prayer for National Home Missions. The week includes daily opportunities in praise and prayer for women involved in North American church planting and also presents a challenge from the Word to nurture these qualities in our own lives.

The week also builds momentum for FWBHM’s annual Mission: North America Offering the following Sunday (November 21). Women are encouraged to give cheerfully and generously to support this vital ministry.

WNAC and FWBHM jointly provide materials for both personal and local church women’s group use. A free packet is available by mail (one per church group, please) or you may download selective resources.

WNAC President Resigns

ANTIOCH, TN—Mrs. Rebecca Pugh resigned as president of Woman Nationally Active for Christ (WNAC) on Saturday, September 11, 2010, during a special called meeting of the WNAC Executive Committee.

The called session met in the Conference Room at the Free Will Baptist National Office Building from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Keith Burden, executive secretary of the National Association of Free Will Baptists, presided at the request of the WNAC Executive Committee. Jack Williams attended as an official observer at the request of Keith Burden.

The Executive Committee scheduled the September 11 session with Mrs. Pugh to clarify misunderstandings that arose following a post-WNAC convention meeting in Oklahoma City on July 21 at which time the Committee asked her to resign as president, citing a continued pattern of overstepping authority, acting outside the bounds of the position of president, and making decisions without Committee approval while appearing to speak for the Committee.

After more than three hours of discussion on Saturday morning, September 11, Mrs. Pugh verbally resigned as president and agreed to write a follow-up letter/email informing WNAC constituents of her resignation.

Executive Director Elizabeth Hodges said, “This has been a difficult time for all of us in WNAC. We need your prayers in the days and weeks ahead as we mend our nets, plan the 2011 convention, and seek the Lord’s direction as we move forward in the ministry of WNAC.”
